How RetroRules collects, uses and safeguards information.

1. Who we are

RetroRules is operated by the BioRetroSynth Research Group, supported by INRAE. Questions about this notice: thomas.duigou@inrae.fr.

2. What we collect and why

  • Server access logs (IP, timestamp, URL, referrer, UA) for security/troubleshooting; basis: legitimate interests.
  • Local preferences (UI settings) stored in your browser’s localStorage; not sent to our servers.
  • Server-side analytics from logs (e.g., GoAccess), aggregated and IP-anonymized when possible.

3. Cookies and trackers

No advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. No third-party analytics beacons.

4. Third-party recipients & transfers

No CDNs or third-party analytics. RetroRules does not share any personal data with third parties.

5. Retention

  • Server logs: kept up to 90 days for security/troubleshooting, then deleted or anonymized.
  • Aggregated analytics: retained without IP addresses.
  • Local preferences: stored only in your browser and persist until you clear them.

6. Your rights
